Audit of a statement of services performance (SSP)

Increasingly, non-financial information is being included in annual reports. A not-for-profit organisation's fundamental objective is not to generate profit or make a commercial return - it may exist to provide services to the community or its members.

Statements of Service Performance (SSP's) are reports that provide primarily non-financial information recording the performance of the organisation against specified objectives. These reports may be used, if issued publicly, to give the community a better idea of the objectives of an organisation.

How we can help you

The audit of service performance requires a level of professional judgement beyond that normally required for the audits of financial statements. Grant Thornton's assurance team is in a unique position to assist in reporting on service performance. The emphasis is on the measurement of outputs resulting from planned activities. We can make a risk based assessment of performance reporting, recording, information gathering and output specifications.
