Partner, Tax
Murray joined Grant Thornton New Zealand in March 2004 and became a partner in January 2008.
Murray has a background in corporate tax consulting and is experienced in advising multi-national clients regarding domestic and international tax issues, including those arising from business and funding structures.
Murray has considerable specialist experience in expatriate taxation and New Zealand’s international tax rules. This means that he is highly qualified to deal with personal and corporate taxation issues relating to employee transfers and international tax planning issues for migrants and high net worth individuals.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Murray was with PricewaterhouseCoopers (six years) and the Inland Revenue Department (3½ years).
Outside the office, Murray enjoys spending time with his wife Michelle and their 4 children. Murray is a keen fisherman and enjoys sailing and boating
